In an effort to slow the potential spread of COVID-19 in our community,
Saguache County government will have limited access to buildings 
beginning Monday, April 27, 2020. 

In an effort to move forward with our job duties, a decision was made
to begin integrating the public back into the county sector.  

Staff will be providing limited essential services via phone and online avenues.
In-person contact for receiving essential services will have limited restrictions during this time. 

These adjustments to county services and public access will be in place until further notice.

Jury Duty Scam February 18, 2020

The Sheriff's Office has received reports from the 12th Judicial District Jury Commissioner of a recent phone scam. 

Several Saguache County residents have received a calls from an unknown person who indicated that he was with the Sheriff's Office and that there was an Arrest Warrant for the individual for not showing up for Jury Duty. 

The person was told that the bond was $925.00 and that the person needed to pay the amount in the form of a cashiers check. The caller gave a phone number to confirm the Warrant and it was eventually routed to the Conejos County Sheriff's Office. 

The Jury Commissioner and the Saguache County along with the Conejos County Sheriff's Office wants citizens to know that this is a scam. DO NOT pay/send any money! 

if the Jury Commissioner requires your presence in Court, you will receive a Jury Notice by mail or will be served personally by a Sheriff's Deputy.
